Cassia
I went to see Othello yesterday (it was excellent) and my long-standing Cass- dilemma was solved. The character Michael Cassio just made it click- Cassia! I'm in love with it. I've always loved Cassie as nn, and for a while my long name for it was Cassandra, but then I just stopped liking it. I think it's that -andra sound. It's just not nice to me; I don't really like Alexandra, either. I played with Cassidy for a while, and I still really like it, but it just feels a little tacky. So Cassia! Cassia is the solution!
What do you think of Cassia? What about Cassio, Cassius, Cassandra, and Cassidy? Any combos?
My favourite combination right now is Cassia Lark, "Cassie", but I'll just brainstorm:Cassia Rosalind "Cassie Rose"
Cassia Maelys "Cassie Mae"
Cassia Bellatrix "Cassie Belle"
Cassie Dorothy
Cassia Felicienne
Cassia Megan"You can have freedom, or you can have peace. But not both at once."

I really love Cassia, I like Cassandra as well but like you I think Cassia is a softer name
I have no strong feelings for Cassidy but I do dislike Cassio ans Cassius. They just don't work for me
I like Cassia Rosalind best. I don't think Dorothy and Felicienne go with Cassia

Cassia, yes!! The -andra in Cassandra often doesn't sound good to me either. Cassia is perfect, and Cass and Cassie are great nicknames. I quite like Cassius and Cassian for a boy. I sway a little with how much I like Cassidy, but mostly it seems to me to take away from the nice Cass-ness. Cassandra is quite regal but youthful. I've known two Cassies. One was Cassandra, the other Cassidy. I really like Cassia Bellatrix and Cassia Maelys. Also:
Cassia Cecily
Cassia Esme
Cassia Willow
Cassia Margot
Cassia Harriet
Cassia Beatrix
Cassia Penelope
Cassia Lola
Cassia Arielle
Cassia Freya
Cassia Guinevere
Cassia Tatiana
Cassia Liv
Cassia Marina
Cassia Elin
Cassia Daisy
Cassia Madeleine
Cassia Vivienne
Cassia Florence
Cassia Wilhelmine
Cassia Eleanor
Cassia Greta
Cassia Autumn
Cassia Juliet

Ooh, Cassian. I LOVE female-sounding names with -n on the end for boys, like Corin, Florian, and Dorian. That's definitely on my list.
And thanks for your combos! They're all great. If I had to pick a top three... Cassia Florence, Cassia Guinevere, and Cassia Daisy.

I like Cassia a lot too. I'm also a fan of Cassandra although at the end of the day, the 'dra' of Cassandra feels really heavy to me so I'm not sure I could ever use it.Of your combos, I like Cassia Rosalind the best.Re: the other names, I like the sound of Cassius but not the meaning and I'm not fond of Cassidy as a fn at all.

Hello, yes. This is probably my favorite girls name. I pronounce it differently than you but my favorite combo for it is Cassia Yvaine. I love Cas- names.Cassius I think is very handsome & one of my favorite male names. Cassian is probably my least favorite. I like Cassandra and Cassander, Caspian, Caspar, Cassel, Cassiopeia...
You get the idea.

Oops, that was meant to go under the OP.

Thankyou! Yes, that pretty much sums up my fault-finding with Cassandra.

Maybe it's just me but Cassia doesn't roll off the tongue very well. Looks cute though.

Okay. Thanks for your input!

From your Cassio reference, I'm guessing you are pronouncing Cassia as "KAS-ee-uh". The sound is nice enough; brings Cassiopeia to mind. Initially, I read this as "KA-shə" with which I'm already familiar as "cinnamon" (what's really in the spice bottle you by at the grocery store, as true cinnamon is rare and expensive) and as a name. You may get a lot of people making that same mistake. As for suggestions (using what I think is your pronunciation)...Cassia Bethan
Cassia Bronwen
Cassia Dove
Cassia Elspeth
Cassia Genevieve
Cassia Helen
Cassia Joy
Cassia Liv
Cassia Mabel
Cassia Maeve
Cassia Margot
Cassia Winifred
Cassia WinterI love Cassandra. Cassio and Cassius are nice for a boy. I don't personally care for Cassidy on either gender.

Yes, that's how I pronounce it. Thanks for the suggestions! They're all lovely, but I especially like Cassia Genevieve, Cassia Bethan, and Cassia Maeve.

How are you pronouncing it? I've heard it both Cass-ee-ah and Cah-sigh-ya. I'm assuming the first since it's closer to Cassie, but that would change how it flows with middle names.

Cass-ee-ah:)

I often get called this even though my name is Cassie. It isn't a nickname for anything either but for a while I wanted it to be short for Cassandra.

Oh, wow, that's cool! I've never heard of a real-life Cassie before, though I know it's by no means an uncommon name. :)

I don't like my name that much but thanks

Cassia - generally nice. Not too exciting to me, but nothing to dislike either.Cassio - feels very Shakespearean; would feel very odd on someone just wandering around today. Prefer as a middle name.Cassius - feels painfully Roman/just plain old; would feel just as odd on someone today.Cassandra - love this one. I always think of a song I know that says, "No one hears Cassandra cry" (in reference to Cassandra the seer, and how no one would ever believe anything she told them). It's a sad song, but beautiful and evocative. Still, I wouldn't use it as a first name myself; I prefer it as a middle name.Cassidy - generally nice. I've seen it on both boys and girls and it seems to work fine either way. Neither exciting nor off-putting.From your combos, I like: Cassia Rosalind & Cassia BellatrixOther combos for Cassia:Cassia June / Cassia Jane / Cassia Jean
Cassia Marie Faith
Cassia Ariadne
Cassia Hope
Cassia Juliet
Cassia Beatrix
Cassia Miriam Joyce
Cassia Elizabeth
Cassia Isolde
Felicity Cassia Wren
Vivienne Cassia Jade
Rowan Cassia
Josephine Grace Cassia
