I don't like Mandy because in comparison with Amanda, which I think is a beautiful and pretty much timeless name, Mandy seems so lackluster and babyish. It's not a nn that ages gracefully like Jenny can, or Kate. Mandy is more like Nikki or Becca that way.

If I *had* to name a daughter Mandy, I would leave her on somebody's doorstep explaining the problem and saying that while I couldn't get out of the obligation, they could and should name her something else. lol
