I wish that people would allow more respect for a person's name - and for a person's ideas. With the name "Barbara" I involuntarily receive numerous nick-names, and was teased with the name Barbie before and throughout my elementary years. I learned to like Barbie, I merely dislike being called "Barb". I do not find anything strange in an unfavorable way about Amanda or Mandy, which are actually beautiful names. Oh and to the other responder, Vicky is quite exotic, like my name and like me!
