There's nothing intrinsically wrong with Mandy. It's just dated. I knew quite a few of them in school although I do know one Mandy who is around 20 today (real name, Amanda Jane). The name works for her and doesn't seem out of place. Still it is most definitely NMS.

If I had to call my dd Mandy, I'd name her Miranda and then slowly wean her to the full name. ;-)
