Re: Opinions on these Biblical Names?
in reply to a message by Nagbehr
Ezra is all biblical to me, but that is not a bad thing.
Abel goes either way. I do associate it with the Bible personally, but it doesn't scream religious.
Seth is biblical for sure, but it is common enough in non-religious circles that I think it stands on it's own.
My own preference is Seth of the list. I love that name. My husband wanted to use it for a girl, but I find that sound so pleasant that I simply like it for anything.
Abel and Wade are not too close to Cain and Abel. The only thing Cain and Wade share is an 'a' and being one-syllable. They don't rhyme or anything matchy like that. In fact, I think that Wade and Abel is an unexpected yet lively sibset. I totally like it.
Ezra is not just Jewish. I know plenty of Ezras who are not Jewish. I do think that it's the least matchy with Wade, but Ezra is one of those names that is so spunky because of it's spelling and sound that it's always a cute choice for a boy.
Still, I would go with Abel for you. You like it best, your husband likes it, and it foils off of Wade quite well.
