How would you use the name Anne ...
... in a combo, and what would the combo be? Like the Phoebe thread below, you may use it for a first or middle name. I prefer no more than one middle name, but, well... just put what you would honestly use in the subject line, please. You may opt for the spelling Ann (I see the appeal in both), but must use Anne or Ann as an independent name -- no compounding, e.g. Annemarie. Hyphenation is okay (e.g. Ann-Katrin).Only one final decision allowed!!!

Mattea Ruth-Anne...was our girls name for our third pregnancy. Ruth after my mom and Anne after my husband's mom. But we had a boy.

So pretty! I forgot how much I loved Ruth and Anne together.

Mary-AnneMary is an important family name to me and I think it flows well. My only issue is the misconception in pronunciation; I would like the name to be pronounced as two separate names MAIR-ree ANN rather than MARR-ree ANN.I wish I could use Anna. I much prefer Anna in many of these combos, e.g.
Anna Marie / Maria
Anna Sophie / Sophia
Anna Katarina
Anna Louisa
Rose Anna

Anne SophieI love this combo for some reason. I don't like Sophie very much though. Plus, it's my cousin's name, and i couldn't name a baby after her without pissing her sister off, so let's say Anne Louisa.

My daughter is Beatrice Elizabeth Anne; all family names one way or another.Cecily Anne appeals to me this morning.

Dorothy Ann "Thea"This is a tough one. The name Anne is a no go in both the first and middle name spot because of an aunt (Anne Elizabeth) who's not highly regarded by my immediate family and a half-aunt (Audrey Anne) who goes solely by her middle name and is similarly out of favor. I'd probably go with Ann for a middle name as a nod to a friend, and just continue the honoring with the first name Dorothy. Plus, I love the nickname Thea.

I could put Anne as a middle next to any name I like...(m)but I'd never ever use it as a first name, and would rather not as a middle.

Cecily AnneAnne is actually the name of one of my sisters, so it would have to go in the middle name spot for honoring purposes. It's also simply a great classic name. I chose Cecily just because I'm really liking it today.

This combo is one I love, along with Cecily Anna and Cecily Alice.

Anne VioletaI've recently developed a major crush on Anne, it's just so beautiful in it's simplicity. Unfortunately I probably won't get a chance to use it due to my partners surname.

Anne Clarity...I guess. Geez, this was hard! Much more so than the Phoebe one.I like Anne best as a first name, but it's so hard for me to combo. Can't seem to come up with anything I'm truly happy with. What I would give if I could've used my beloved Anetka or Anya instead! XT

Anne KatherineI also lurve Anne Rebecca and Ann Rebecca, but not as much as Lucy Rebecca. I would use any of these under the right circumstance, but Anne Katherine wins.

Ooh, I almost spit out my coffee! I was just thinking of Lucy Rebecca a day or two ago. Love it!

Lucy Rebecca is fabulous! I also love Anne Rebecca.

Anne RosalieBut I'd use Annemarie, it was one of our daughter's back-up names. And then it would have a different middle name. Frances was what I would've used before, but now I'd probably do Claire. Also, I'd totally call her Nan, Nanny, Nanw, etc. because awwwww

I agree, I wouldn't use Anne if I could prevent it. It's a very boring, overused name where I live.
vote up1
That's the opposite of where I live. I feel like names are so flamboyant and over-the-top in my area that seeing a young Anne would be a welcoming contrast of tasteful reserve; a mark of class. Understated.

Agree with Puck on this. With all the girls named Rainbow, LaCherrie, Rubelina and Avelina, etc. being born right now (in my area), Anne seems so classic and fresh comparatively.

Also agreed. I think a little Anne would be a breath of fresh air (though I guess it depends on where you live).
