Re: Names I'd actually use

The Boys:Angus- makes me think of a bull.
Bellamy- seems like it should be a female name.
Benedict nn Ben- seems harsh, like Ben though.
Benjamin nn Ben / Benji- like Benjamin/Ben well enough but Benji sounds like a dog.
Christian- dislike.
Edgar- suits Edgar Allen Poe but that's about it.
Elliot- Indifferent.
Ivor- dislike the way it sounds.
Jasper- Sounds like an old man.
Judah- dislike the sound.
Matthias- starting to grow on me a tiny a bit.
Oscar- hate. Just hate.
Percival- indifferent.
Reuben nn Reu- I like nothing about this name.
Rufus nn Rue- again, I think of a dog; not sure why.
Samson- indifferent.
Tristram nn Tris- Just seems awkward to write and pronounce.
Willoughby nn Will- makes me think of the Pillsbury dough boy. Will is ok though. The Girls:Clarissa nn Clary- LOVE Clarissa, Clary not so much.
Clemency nn Clemmie- hate.
Eliza-hate.
Elspeth- hate.
Flora nn Flo or Florrie- Flora, yes. Flo, no. Florrie, no.
Georgiana nn Georgie or Georgia- dislike the "George" part because I very much dislike that name. I don't mind Georgia as much.
Harriet nn Hattie- dislike Harriet, I just envision an old, angry, hairy woman. Hattie is kind of growing on me.
Isobel nn Belle- Like, prefer Isabelle though. Belle is kind of bland.
Ivy-Love.
Lucy- Love
Mabel- seems a bit dated but I'm not adverse to it.
Matilda nn Tilda- Indifferent.
Patience- Love.
Phoebe- Very much like.
Sophia- In my bottom five. Terribly overused.
Thea- Cute, classic, like very much.
Thisbe- Not so much but I don't hate it.
Viola- Hate. Probably because it's close to Violet which is close to violent. Just can't like it. I've tried.
