I know a László. He's a very nice friendly dude & gives a positive impression of the name. I think the spelling would be unnecessarily complicated outside Hungary if you weren't Hungarian, but Lazlo would be fine on a non-Hungarian kid - fits in quite well with other -o names you see in Telegraph BAs, like Cosmo and Rollo.
