as an Australian, you, and your fellow countrymen and women don't pronounce the "r" as "hard" as we do, mostly, in north America. Thus, Arnold, is almost Ahnold. so Theodora sounds just fine.

Yes, that is true.
I think i'm liking it. I've been testing it out for the last few days, referring to her as Theo.. i'm liking it a lot! :D
