I'd name her Lucille and pronounce it lou-sill. Revenge on the capricious world that makes me name a daughter that. I understand that she has to have Lucy as a nickname, but I would get the hiccups every time I said it so it would sound just like I was calling her Lou. The name Lucy is fine on other people, I kind of see its appeal, but I would not want to call my daughter it. I just don't like it.
If I get to name YOUR daughter either Lucille or Lucy, I'd name her Lucille nn Lucy because I think I'd personally rather not be "just" Lucy ... it's too much a nickname, to me. I think it'd be more pleasing to have a full name behind it.
