To someone who's not used to the 'great aunt' term, what are they?
My aunt's names however are Madelaine, Monica and Hanna (changed her name from Marita, not a sister to the others)

A sister of a grandparent.
A great-aunt by marriage would be the wife of a grandparent's brother. I didn't include those when I answered.
