Beau and Håvard
in reply to a message by Danno
I know these three names are quite different, but they've all got something apealing to them. Beau is a cute, short name and works as a unisex name in my opinion. Håvard (HAW-vard) is a typical Norwegian name and means "high" and "guardian, defender". It might not work as well internationally, but it is still a strong option if I ever get to choose a name for a boy.

I really like Håvard (HAW-vard) and have never come across it before, unfortunately in the US it would constantly be mispronounced so I don't think I would ever use it here. I assume that you probably don't live in the US and are probably Norwegian so people would pronounce it correctly. If I was Norwegian I could definitely see myself using that name.

I do live in Norway, so I'm lucky on my part. It seems like everyone else love that name here as well, so Håvard would have a lot of name siblings.
Håvard would definetly be mispronounced and misspelled constantly in English speaking countries. I honestly think it only works in the Nordics due to the "Å".
