#1 Boy name
May as well do one for male names. Share your absolute favorite boy name. Remember, if you can't decide between names, feel free to post them but try to keep it to a minimum. Looking forward to seeing all the various names again :DI'll just share mine straightaway. My favorite goes to Cole. It's THE name I absolutely plan to use for a son.

SteveOther names I like include Jeff, Todd, Brian, Dave, and many other slightly dated, "regular guy" sort of names.

JasperJasper was always going to be the name of my first son, as long as my DH agreed and he did! Other boys names I love are Jethro (obviously!), Felix, Oscar, Jed, Jesse, Jonah, Moses, Ezra, Ephraim, Eleazar, Asher, Seth, Gideon and more!

Interesting choices! I especially love Emeka.

Beau and HåvardI know these three names are quite different, but they've all got something apealing to them. Beau is a cute, short name and works as a unisex name in my opinion. Håvard (HAW-vard) is a typical Norwegian name and means "high" and "guardian, defender". It might not work as well internationally, but it is still a strong option if I ever get to choose a name for a boy.
vote up1
I really like Håvard (HAW-vard) and have never come across it before, unfortunately in the US it would constantly be mispronounced so I don't think I would ever use it here. I assume that you probably don't live in the US and are probably Norwegian so people would pronounce it correctly. If I was Norwegian I could definitely see myself using that name.

I do live in Norway, so I'm lucky on my part. It seems like everyone else love that name here as well, so Håvard would have a lot of name siblings.
Håvard would definetly be mispronounced and misspelled constantly in English speaking countries. I honestly think it only works in the Nordics due to the "Å".

Kieran and RowanKieran has been my absolute favorite boy's name for 10 years and I've liked it since I first met a little boy with the name when I was in 5th grade, he lived next door to us for a year and we were good friends with one of his older brothers. My love of the name Rowan has slowly been growing and growing until this year it finally reached a point where I love it equally to Kieran.

ZelimkhanOne of my personal favourites. I love how it's pronounced (I've heard the actual Chechen pronunciation), and the meaning is interesting. The nickname "Zelim" would also work – another name I like. Very strong, masculine, and regal, too.

I like it, especially for someone of Chechen heritage.

Well its certainly different. Ahaha

ParkerNot a name-nerd favourite, I know, but what I'm into at the moment. :-)Notable shout out to Tanner and Bridger too.
vote up1
My stepsister named her daughter Parker.
vote up1
Yuck! :-(
vote up1
I like Parker as well-not as much as I used to (not something I would want to use as I did in the past) but the soft spot that I have for it is still there. :) I still like it but the intensity has just dwindled down a bit. Tanner is nice too. An old boyfriend of mine (long ago) had that name. Though his name was actually James Tanner but mainly went by his middle

Elliott. As it was with Nikita, I fell in love with this name when I was around 15 watching "E.T." once again and falling in love with the name born by the boy who finds "E.T.", Elliott.Yeah, once again a name from pop-culture I fell in love with like "Nikita" of the same Elton John song. Most of my absolute favorites come from pop-culture and that's a little weird.
vote up1
I don't think that it's weird. Almost all of my favorite names I love were people I knew or characters from books, movies, or other forms of pop culture. I bet it's pretty common. Almost all of the names I love that aren't people I knew or pop culture are nature names or mythological character names. Also I like the name Elliott, it reminds me of Seattle because of a water area in the city named Elliott Bay. If my sister ever has children she wants to name a daughter Elliot but I prefer it as a boy's name.

BasilPronounced like the herb. My DH and I have a hard time with boy nanes and this is the only one we agree on. His family are Russian Orthodox so the fact that it’s a saint name is awesome, too.

AndrewAndrew is my favorite name.
vote up1
Damon.I also like Nicholas a lot, and would probably end up using it instead, if I were naming a son ... just because the chances of my husband liking Damon seem small. My long-time favorite is Merrick, but I've decided I have more of a crush on it, rather than really wanting to name a kid it.

Philipand Felix and Jonah, which I love pretty much equally but would hesitate to call my number one just because I sometimes feel like Felix seems too prickly and Jonah too fundamentalist.
vote up1
Felix has never seemed prickly to me. I picture someone laidback, comedic, and friendly which is part of what I love about it. You might say that Felix has a happy-go-lucky vibe. ;)I like Philip, the nn Phil is a bit dated but I think Pip is really cute. It makes me think of Pippin from LotR and it makes me think of Pip-Boy from the Fallout series of games.Jonah is definitely not my style because it's so Christian but I like the sound of it.

Casper..At the moment. I keep going backwards and forwards between Casper and Caspian. I think Casper wins because it seems more serious to me and there's an odd kid at school named Caspian, so it would be weird if I had a baby and named him Caspian! My backups: Wilfred, Caspian, Barnaby, Ignatius, Francis, Remus, Ptolemy, Rufus
vote up1
Plus, Caspian sounds similar to someone saying, "cats peeing" o__0

Ahh, I don't know if you have now ruind Caspian.. or made it more appealing :P

Tie between Evander and Quentin.

Rufus! We both love him to bits.

WesleyThis has pretty much always been my favorite male name - "always" in this case meaning since the first time I watched "The Princess Bride" when I was a kid. And yes, I know, he spells his name "Westley" in the film (and novel), but I find that spelling far less practical for everyday life.I go back and forth with middle names, though. It was Wesley Owen for a long time, but currently it's Wesley Tobias.

Leo.

Adorable! (:
vote up1
Thanks, but I just realized my two top names are Leah and Leo. Here's hoping I never have twins. ;)
vote up1
Could you ever see yourself naming siblings Leah and Leo, if they weren't twins? If there was a huge age gap (that would mean they barely see each other), would you do it?
vote up1
That actually made me laugh (: Definitely have to agree
vote up1
CaspianI think Caspian is probably my favourite name ever, overall, out of all my favourites (girl or boy).
vote up1
You know I have always liked Caspian but I used to think it might be a little too much of a place name but I've decided that the Caspian Sea is not a negative and might even be a positive.I really like the nn Cas.

FinnIt has a lot of personal and family meaning to me and has been the name for basically as long as I can remember. I would prefer to spell it Fionn but that would only create trouble in Australia or the US (if I stay here permanently).I would let my partner name a daughter Taelyn or something equally horrific if it meant I got Finn for a son.
vote up1
I'm a fan of Finn as well (: A very handsome yet adorable name. I love it as a standalone. I understand where you're coming from since I pretty much feel the same way towards "Cole" Like I absolutely want to use it, NEED to use it, hahaha. Though I've been seriously considering having only one child soooo if a boy... :D
All the naming ends there with just 1.
vote up1
Yeah, I hope with everything I have that I don't just have one! Fionn is a standalone name. One of the reasons I love it is because my Granda (great-grandfather) and Papa (grandfather) who I lived with for my whole childhood used to tell me the stories of Fionn MacCool as bedtime stories, as well as other Irish legends. But Fionn MacCool was the greatest. :) I don't like Finnian or Finley and I can tolerate Fionnbharr but it's not the same.

I used to feel the same way. I couldn't imagine having only 1 kid, no way, no how but oddly enough, my strong-headed preference changed. I mean I wouldn't mind dealing with 2 but having just 1 would be more ideal and realistic for me, I guess. Like the whole "one and done" method. I'm unfamiliar with Fionn MacCool but sentimental feelings towards a name is always endearing.
vote up1
That is about the most meaningful statement of love for a name that I have ever heard.
vote up1
heheIt's actually true. Maybe not like Gaylord or something...I would think about my other hypothetical child's wellbeing- but I think people can live with a name like Taelyn and I'd get used to it, adjust, and love my kid anyway. But I really think I'd always feel a sense of loss calling a son anything else. I love other male names but it's the only name with a story for me and I love it so wholeheartedly. We'll see. Hopefully it won't come to that ;) But I am one for compromise and if that's what needs to be done for it to be a compromise, then so be it.
vote up1
To be honest, I love Finn, as well as Taelyn. I think they make a great set!

Morgan

I love Morgan for a boy too. Does Joel not like it?
vote up1
No, he doesn't like the Arthurian associations and he considers it a girl's name. 'Tis a bummer.

Damn. It would sound nice with your boys!

August (m) ETAIt's been my favourite for about 7 years now. I saw it in Langemark, a German WWI graveyard in Belgium. ETA: The name I would probably, actually use for a son is James. Cole is so demonic baddie to me, ha.
