Axel, Sebastian, Zachariah & more
Narrowing down the boys' list and it's getting shorter each day. Would appreciate some opinions, thoughts, feedback, associations etc on these names. And no, the Harry Potter association with Albus doesn't bug me at all. Axel, Liam, Melvin and Sebastian are all popular where I live. Albus
Axel
Jackson
Liam
Melvin
Sebastian
Zachariah
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are. PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/45898
Top: Alice and William
Bottom: Dolly and Isidor'Eggbert' due December 2018

Albus -This is kind of cool. It's not my style, but it would be nice to meet someone with this name. I can't see anything negative about it.
Axel -I can't get wheel axles out of my head when I hear this name so it conjures up the idea of black grease and such for me. I'm sure that association isn't too strong where you live so maybe I'm not fit to give an opinion on this one for a child growing up in Sweden.
Jackson -Gotta be honest. I just don't like it. The only people I've personally ever known to use it have been kind of trashy people and I am sure that has colored my perception of the name, but that's where I stand on it. It leaves an "ugh" taste in my mouth.
Liam -It's okay. I don't care for the idea that it's kind of like half a name, but if that doesn't bother you, then I think the name is kind of sweet sounding.
Melvin -Melvin is a giraffe name or an elderly person's name here and it still has that dated sound, not the circled-back-around fresh again vibe. So I'm not feeling this one.
Sebastian -This is my favourite. I love this name. I love the sound. I think it's so classy, but can still be fun and I like how well it ages.
Zachariah -While this one isn't my personal style, I think it can fit into a lot of the same categories with Sebastian. Classic name with a fun side and ages very well.
My votes go to Sebastian, Zachariah, and Albus.

Albus- I think the name is nice and all however even though it doesn’t bother you teasing is a rather large possibility with that name. Also the pure irony of he ends up not liking Harry Potter.
Axel- It’s a nice name, it would look out of place where I live but you’ve mentioned it’s popular where you live so that wouldn’t be an issue.
Jackson- It’s okay but it’s too trendy. It might be nice if it’s less popular where you’re from.
Liam- Can’t say I’m the biggest fan. It sounds to much like a nickname for my liking. I prefer the longer version William.
Melvin- I don’t like it. It sounds very old man like. It might work well as a middle name though.
Sebastian- I love it it’s my favourite name on your list. I love the nicknames Seb, Bastian, and for when he’s small Sebby. Great name.
Zachariah- I love this name. I love the nickname Zach. I much prefer this to the name Zachary.

Albus- it's a little weird but HP makes it possible for me to see it used here. Good meaning
Axel- I think of the axle of a car, even though it makes little sense
Jackson - more common, but points for not using Jaxson. I'm not really a fan of -son names for anyone
Liam - I really dislike Liam. A friend's used it and it's less irritating now than it was 2 years ago but still cringe when I hear it used
Melvin - meh, nothing special to me but the sound is nice enough. Not a great meaning though.
Sebastian - not a fan but Bash (nn) is decent. I just don't like the sound or the way it rolls off my lips
Zachariah - I like it but Zac names have always been overused in my mind. Zechariah and other spellings have only replaced Zachary. My vote is for Albus, it's got everything in my mind. Al nn if the kid goes through a phase hating it. Not on the top 1000, but thanks to HP it's heard of. A positive character too. Has a good meaning. What more do you need in a name?
