Raphaela
I'm inexplicably suddenly smitten with Raphaela. It's inexplicable because I really don't like Raphael, and I've never thought much about the feminine forms. I'm particularly enchanted by how Raphaela sounds with my Italian last name -- it's pronounced roughly like "lasagna," but it begins with a "b" and ends with an "i." Raffaella would be more ~authentic~ because it's Italian, but I don't love the double "f" followed by a double "l." So, Raphaela is my preferred form. What do you think? Here are some combos:Raphaela Beatrix
Raphaela Bertille
Raphaela Betony
Raphaela Cecile
Raphaela Constance
Raphaela Cosima
Raphaela Dagny
Raphaela Dorothy
Raphaela Edith
Raphaela Enid
Raphaela Eugenie
Raphaela Gertrude
Raphaela Gudrun
Raphaela Inez
Raphaela Ingrid
Raphaela Judith
Raphaela Mathilde
Raphaela Maud
Raphaela Mildred
Raphaela Millicent
Raphaela Miriam
Raphaela Myrtle
Raphaela Odette
Raphaela Ottilie
Raphaela Sibyl
Raphaela Sigrid
Raphaela Solveig
Raphaela Therese

Hi Felie!Yes, my father's side of the family is Italian (from Parma and Naples). I'm glad you were struck by Raphaela Bertille! Bertille doesn't get the appreciation it deserves. :)

I love Raphaela but would be more likely to use Raphaelle. Though I also really like Raphael, Rafael, and Rafaela. Raffaella / Raffaela tends to calls to mind raffle tickets, ruffles, and riff raff.I feel like it pairs well with most names. I don't dislike any of the combos. Raphaela Maud and Raphaela Myrtle are surprisingly pretty.
