Re: Guilty Pleasure Names
Adora — absolutely after She-RaArtemis / Athena — I like Greek / Roman god names. At least the gods who weren’t *Terrible* like Zeus and Ares. I know some people think they’re p extra tho. Ianthe — still on the ancient and medieval mythology namesEzra — I’m sooo frustrated by this name. I Love the sound, but my main association with it is Ezra Pound, who was a fascist and a Nazi. And I feel like if I use it, that association stays close because I’m a poet. Madrigal — it sounds so cool, but it has such a specific meaning (more of a definition really, it’s a word name) and idk. It sounds like a fantasy name and it actually is in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series. I loooove Simone and Judith. I think right now people think they’re pretty old fashioned. But obvi they’d be honoring Simone de Beauvoir and Judith Butler (and the Biblical Judith too)Winona —idk it sounds old fashioned but it makes me smile and think of Winona RyderEDIT: Almost forgot the Biggest guilty pleasure name of all!! Sappho !!!

I like Ezra too, but I feel like it's too popular at the moment - by the time I might be having kids, it'd probably be dated.Judith and Winona are both so cute and under-rated! I think Judith has a fresh, cute, up-beat feeling despite being old-fashioned, and Winona just sounds pretty and feminine. I love your associations. And of course, Sappho is amazing.
