Little Grey Kitten
My friend has a little grey kitten that needs a name. It's a girl, and she's grey all over. She wants to name it a 'real' name, versus something like 'Smokey'. Thanx! ~Aidan

Give us back SYLVESTER!!!!Did you folks hear the tragic news? The corporate moguls have decided to scrap Sylvester and instead pair Tweety with a politically-correct non-violent namby-pamby neutered Nipponese kitten called "Hello Kitty" :(((
I urge you all to write letters of protest to Warner Bros, your congressperson, or to whoever it might take to put an end to this dethpicable travethty!!!

Oh, Greek One...Where did you hear/read this? I'd like to see it for myself before I inform my older brother (a REAL Looney Tunes fan) then watch him raise the roof. Heck, I'm pretty sure he'd raise the roof if they tampered with ANY of the Looney Tunes characters beyond a reasonable amount (he's got almost, if not all, of the classic LTs memorized).Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Oh, Jewitch ...There was a report on this matter on Greek TV. Looking into it a bit more, I think the sacking of Sylvester may have been a bit exaggerated. But Tweety does have a new Japanese partner, and you can see an emetic pic at:

I may be wrong in the romanization of the first "name" I thought of (which is a Japanese "color noun" meaning "gray") haiiru [the "double i" lengthens the pronunciation of the i I think, but I may be wrong]). The other isn't Japanese but from one of the Celtic/Gaelic subfamilies: Drogo, meaning "ghost".I wish I could be of more help. :)Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Oops! :)Drogo is already posted on the Main Board, and it isn't Gaelic or Celtic. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.Phyllis (aka Sidhe uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

We named our little grey kitten "Nimbus" after cumulonimbus clouds. Nimbus also means "halo". He's now a big old grey cat and goes by the name of "Nimbo".

P.S.Sorry Aidan..this wasn't helpful as "Nimbo" isn't a "real" name. Besides, Nimbo probably has a copywrite on it. He's that kind of cat.

We got a tiny grey-all-over kitten early last year, and my wife named it Sophie. However, the next day my college son dubbed it Baby Kitty, and that name stuck.Unfortunately, visitors react strangely now when this 14-pound cat struts into the room and someone says, "It's Baby Kitty!"But the upshot is, "Sophie" is up for grabs as a real name. Whatthehell, it's only a cat, so don't spend a lot of time mulling it over.- Da.
