Re: tne names of the wives of the 12 sons of Jacob

This is just from scratch:ELYORAM – God lifts up / has lifted up (from the dust)
DINAH – Right (God has proved that I am right and those, who were mocking about me having no children, aren’t; one possible interpretation)
ADINAH – „delight“ (cf. EDNA), in the bible Adina is masc.
ALIT – from „ala“? (ascend)
ELFLALET – no idea! „elef“ usually means „thousand“, „lalet“ reminds me of „layil“ (night), but who stole the last night?
MERIMIT – He lifts up (see above) + fem. ending -it
UZIT – Power (of God?) + fem. ending -it
ADON – Lord, Master (probably not of Hebrew origin, but rather masc.)
HADORAH – „hadar“ means „splendour, glory“ (usually of God)
ARDIAH – There is the masc. name ARD meaning „hump-backed“
MAROSHAH – „rosh“ means „head“, the verbal root does not seem to exsist, but the name could still be a participle („put on top“?)
ASENATH – belonging to (consecrated to) Neith (am Egyptian deity)
MAHLIA – „illness“ (?)
ARBAT – „(number?) four“ (?)I found this: http://www.worldwideschool.org/library/books/relg/historygeography/TheLegendsoftheJewsVolume2/chap2.html
