But the "Shee" part of your name could be a variant spelling of Shea.

"De" is a prefix common to many black names (DeMarlo, the name of a friend, comes to mind), probably for the same reason that "La" is. As far as I know, it started in Louisiana ages ago, where French was predominantly spoken.
