But if I were in Japan, I would write my name Jackson Miranda.

As a random note, it's not always wise to do that if you go to Japan--assuming you look the part of a Westerner. Many people there have trained themselves to recognize that American (or Canadian, in your case) = family name last, and thus, they'll call you by the name you put down first. You might end up being called Jackson, then. :)

It's one of those rare moments when it's not necessarily wise to do as the Romans do.
