So, I've got this kinda weird name. I pronounce it Mage (like Paige) Lyn (like Lynn). Usually I just go by Mage though because it seems hard for some people to figure out (Magellan?). *sigh*
I'm wondering if anyone could help me figure out the origin and etymology of the name. I used to think it was a Norse name meaning "little pearl" but I can't remember where I got that. I know Maggie means pearl, and I know -lein is a diminutive suffix, but other than that...
I did a google search on it and I was suprised to find it's a name in the Phillipines as well, and I found a few from from northern European origin but they're all dead I think. Seems to have been a name from the turn of the century.
By the way, my family is a mutt mix of northern europe- german, irish, scottish, welsh, danish, ect.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't even know if I pronounce my own name right. :(
