Jehan

I posted a few weeks ago about finding a middle name for Priya (pronounced Pree-a). Someone suggested the name Jehan meaning 'the world', which I thought was lovely. How do you pronounce this? Does anyone know where this name originated?

Considering the ethnic background of Priya, my guess is that Jehan is a variant of Jahan.
Otherwise, Jehan is the original form of Jean.~ IvaylaAnything good in life is either illegal, immoral, or fattening.
