Yes, Ylva means female wolf. It is not uncommon here in Sweden. The male form is Ulf ("ulv" is an old name for wolf).

Well, the Swedish Y-ljud is not used in English. It is the same sound as the German ΓΌ-sound and the French u-sound. I guess English-speaking people would say "Ilva".
