Ray as a girl's name

I am a woman whose middle name is Ray. I am curious if there are other women with this name. I would like to know if it is a form of Rachel or if it a name by itself. What does it mean?

Yes, a lot of women bear the name Ray, but there are several spellings: Ray, Rae, and Rei. Here are the BtN definitions of Rei, Ray, and Rae:

Sure, Ray can be used as a pet form of Rachel... or any other name that starts or ends with "ra."Ask whoever named you why he/she chose Ray.& click Ray.
