Behind the Name: Message: "Meaning of Alana"

So, my name is Alana, and everyone who I talk to who is Russian or German tells me it's a Russian name. But I'm not sure what it means. I think someone once told me it means Angel, but I could be getting confused with my last name (which is DeAngelis - Of the Angels)
