Can anyone tell me the proper pronunciation of the Swedish name "Signe." It is used as a first name for females, but I'm not certain to the exact pronunciation. Thanks for any help!

I went to college with a girl named Signe. She was American by birth and had a slight Texan accent, but she pronounced her name SEE-neh. I don't know whether this is the orthodox Swedish pronunciation, though.
