My daughter and son-in-law want to name their baby girl Minda. They have been told this is a Native American name. Can anyone offer insight into this name? Thanks.

It is a short form for Melinda as well

According to many other baby names web sites, the name Minda is indeed Native American, meaning "knowledge". If you would like to confirm this yourself, try searching for "meaning name Minda" on Google and you will find this info.
