I don't know the correct abbreviation for Shakespeare, if there is one, but William is traditionally abbreviated as 'Wm', often with the 'm' in superscript (ie raised up so the top of the 'm' is level with the top of the 'W' and is therefore floating above the line . . . heh, I'm sure you know what superscript is lol).
