Re: looking for a japanese name
I just wrote a program to extract from http://www.dd.iij4u.or.jp/~ume20/f_name/ (Haven't checked the program, so someone who knows Japanese should check!).I can't find the exact pronounciation you want (so, maybe my program is bust). For san (where the consonant is different), it lists the following Kanji, whose pronounciation and meanings I list from the Unicode document.1) 砂姫

As the previous poster implied, Shawn/Shan isn't a Japanese word or name. Shun exists as a male name. I'm not sure if it's used as a female name and can't access the name database to check.
