BOYZ AND GIRLZ
am due next week have several names for both sexes, can anyone help with meanings or origins?
GIRLS: BETTY JO IONA SKYE DAISY KINKA OR INDIE
BOYS: OSWALD BUDDY SONNY AXL
any help would be appreciated
its already been suggested that KINKA is too close too the word and meaning kinky, come on people rise above it, children can take the mickey if youve got red hair or glasses!!!

Red hair and glasses are not things that you can control, and yes, children learn to deal with them. However, giving your child a name which is one letter away from a word with very unpleasant associations IS something that you can control. It would be disgustingly cruel for you to give your daughter this name.Of your choices I like Iona, Skye and Daisy, particularly Iona.

I agree. Kinka is too close to Kinky. You can expect or command the masses to ignore obvious soundalikes when it comes to names. Why set your child up for that lifetime of baggage especially when there are so many other gorgeous names out there without said baggage.I know Axel is the Scandinavian form of Absalom.Melina

it's been suggested because Kinka really IS too close to kinky. Give a kid a name like that, and every kid on the block will be calling her Kinky, believe me. I'm fourteen and I know at least 15 people who would be so cruel as too do that. After hearing Kinka, kinky is the first thing that pops into your mind, and I strongly (!!!) recommend that it not be used as a name.
