Does the name "Sookie" sound odd?
I'm a Chinese and i'm thinking of choosing an original English name which sounds like my Chinese name. The name "Sookie" occurred to me when i watched the American TV show "True Blood", but i'm not sure of its meaning. It would be appreciated if anyone here could help me find out if this name "Sookie" is a good choice. Thanks a lot!

Sookie is an old English name circa 1700s it’s comes from Susanna (don’t know how) and it means Lily. The name isn’t common and no it doesn’t sound strange at all. I had a cat called Sookie..

Your post is better suited for the opinions board, but for what it's worth, Sukie seems to be a more common spelling in English.
