Danica/Danika derivations
I posted this question of long time ago, but I've forgotten the exact words. I believe someone told me it is derived from Slavic 'denitsu' meaning 'morning star.'I am compiling derivations for a personal project and since this is my favorite girl name, I'd really like to include it and its derivations. Thanks so much,Melina

Danica is derived from the Slavic denitsa (or denica, dennitsa, depending on the transcription). Denitsa is a colloquial name for the planet Venus, also dubbed the morning star since it is the last "star" that disappears in the morning.Etymologically speaking, denitsa is derived from den - day.I hope that helps :)
