I'm not sure about that. I guess this refers to Zaluma Agra ("Star of the East"), the Circassian beauty at Barnum's, who was in fact a local girl.

I tend to believe that Zalumma or Zaluma is a feminime (Circassian) variation of the name SOLOMON.
