Liam is the name my wife and I choose for our soon to be son. it is a combanation of our two names, Lila and Sam. we both have bloodlines in the orgins of the name liam and are quite happy that overall its a totally cool name.

Oh, that's way too harsh. As a psychologist I think it's very interesting to learn that someone chose Liam as a blend of the names Lila and Sam.

It is, of course, the second part of William, which was once translated as Uilliam, a name also used for the fox, corresponding to Reynard in English. Liam was originally a pet form, but it is now established as the Irish translation.
