There are several people amongst my ancestors,who have the Middle Name of Simon.I have heard it said,that there is some significance behind its use,So I would be most grateful if someone could enlighten me on this matter.

If there's any significance beyond the meaning, we won't be able to magically divine it. You'll have to ask some family members instead.
