Looking at the Sanskrit/Pali adjective, I suppose Kaliana could directly derive from it.

Cali/Kali in the Greek root means "beautiful" - look up namss like Calla, Calistta, Calanthe, Calliope, etc. and they all have that root. So I would guess Caliana is the root Cali/beautiful combined with the popular suffix of Anna/Ana.
