Family names in Spanish
I would like to know the rules regarding family names in Spanish, the placement of father's family name and mother's family name in the name a thier child, for example. What are the rules? Can you give me some examples? Thank you.

Normally in Spanish the mother's paternal surname follows the father's, but the father's name is the main one used. Juan Rodriguez Gonzalez will be called Señor Rodriguez, not Señor Gonzalez. If he marries Maria Camarena Orellana, their children will be Jorge Rodriguez Camarena and Mercedes Rodriguez Camarena.

Right, and...Juan's wife would be Maria Camarena de Rodriguez.~ Ivayla,
