If I had to guess...
I'd say its an extended form of Reva which is a variant of Reba which is a short form for Rebecca/Rebekah which means "to tie" "to bind" or "noose" depending upon your interpretation.

Sounds plausible..."Revanna" is also the name of a town in Italy. Perhaps Revanna's parents vacationed or honeymooned there, and were struck by the name? Who knows? It pays to badger the old folks a bit when trying to find out stuff. :)-- Nanaea
