Re: The Name "Rennie"
I am a Rennie also. It is common on the east of Scotland. Rennies owned alot of land in Angus. First recording was in Angus in the 800s. It's believed to have come from old Norse. Vikings introduced this name to Scotland. Meaning son of reynold. Vikings didn't have their own surnames as such. They made their own names to fit into the places that they settled. Scottish sounding names such as Macaulay and mcleod are also Norse.
