Elaina's a form (English, I'd guess) of Elaine, which IS in the database. The reason why Elaina isn't in the database yet is simply because Mike C hasn't gotten around to it yet.

American, rather than English. With all their eccentricities, the English tend to be slightly more knowledgeable about French than their cousins across the pond.

From where I sit, firmly in South Africa, Elaina looks like a hilarious spelling mistake. But I'm sure your daughter will like it.
