Abshir

Indeed just like nameQueen said, Abshir does mean congratulation/blessing in somali. But it also means "A clan Meeting". The name is often given to kids if they are born when a clan meeting is being held. I bear this name, because my father died around the same time I was born, which led to a lot of people coming over. "Ab" means relatives and "shir" means assembly.
