Adelina Patti (February 10, 1843 - September 27, 1919) was one of the most highly regarded opera singers of the 19th century. Giuseppe Verdi was not alone in calling her the greatest singer he ever heard.
The named is also used in Bulgaria, spelled Аделина.

Having this name, I was intrested 2 find out more about it. So this is what I know: ADELINA has its origins in German and it means "noble". Its carrier is strong, has leader qualities and is trust- worthy. (I`m not sure how accurate are these pieces of information).
Adelina is the name of one of the main characters in The Two Princesses of Bamarre by Gail Carson Levine. I think it was very clever that Adelina was shy and quiet while her name meant "strong".
