I think América is a gorgeous name. It’s a very beloved name in my family, as it was my grandmother’s youngest sister name. She was named América for being born on October 12th, in which Día de la Raza is commemorated in Latin American countries (and Columbus Day in the US). I think it’s a beautiful, strong and meaningful name. While I love the Spanish pronunciation, I’m not too fond of the English one.
