Aslaug, or Áslaug, probably means "God's Bath" or something similar as "Laug" means pool or bath and Áss comes from the Æsir which is the group of main gods in Norse mythology.

Aslaug Vaa (1889-1965) was a Norwegian writer and poet. She was the mother of Visual artist Anne Raknes (1914-2001) and Poet Magli Elster (1912-1993). (

Aslaug Låstad Lygre (1910-1966) was a Norwegian poet. She released six Poetry Collections, the last one in 1964, and recieved Gyldendal's Endowment same year. (
