It's funny to mention that 'beppe' in the Frisian language means 'grandmother'. Frisian is the official language of the province 'Friesland' in the Netherlands. Frisian grandchildren call their grandparents 'pake & beppe'.

A famous actor/singer in Sweden went by this name, he was born John Bertil. Beppe Wolgers did (among many things) the Swedish voice for Baloo in the Disney version of The Jungle book.

Really? No offense.

Italian pronunciation of Beppe:

"E" is somewhere between "eh" (as in the sound in "echo") and "eyh" (similar to "lay," minus the "l"). Both "PP"s must be pronounced; place additional stress on the vowel following ("e") to make it easier, and carry through the "PP"s. "E" is as described before, "eh"/"eyh."
