Comments for the name Bruna

This is a good name for girls with brown eyes or brown hair, like me.

Bruna is also a Catalan name. Bru is its masculine form. While Bruno is the Spanish form for the masculine.

My parents gave me this as a middle-name and I've always disliked it. Can't say it was total hatred, but I wasn't thrilled with it. Happily took my maiden name as a middle name when I married.

Too close to the masculine, Bruno, for my tastes. And just a "hild" away from Brunhilda too. Not pretty.

This sounds like the name of a very hideous woman. I've never liked it.

Don't like it much. It reminds me of "Bruxa" (broo-shuh), which means witch, in Portuguese. I know a girl who bears this name, but she's a redhead with green eyes, so it doesn't suit her much. We nickname her "Brunxa" for fun.

It is also a Catalan name, and in that language it is also a name that means "dark one" as in a dark-skinned woman.
