This name is cruel to name your daughter. You're basically naming her "girl" in Spanish!

Well, it's a nickname with a different origin from the Spanish word and a different pronunciation.

Chica da Silva (1732-1796) was a slave of colonial Brazil who became rich and famous despite her background. Her life story was made into a famous telenovela starring actress Taís Araújo.

Although it sounds fashionable, the fact that it means "girl" in Spanish diminishes appeal.

Chica, an antagonist/animatronic of the indie horror game Five Nights at Freddy's. God knows how they actually came up with this name.

I think this is a pretty Portuguese name.

This would be hard for a family that speaks Spanish since if you were talking about a girl then your kid would think you're talking about them.

Chica (also fully known as Chica the Chicken) is one of four main antagonists of Five Nights at Freddy's. She appears in four of the games except Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location.

Out of all the other main antagonists, Chica is the only female.
