Cristian Sáez Valdés Castro, referred to as Christian Castro or Cristian is a Mexican pop singer. Born in Mexico City, he is the son of renowned actress and singer Verónica Castro and comedian Manuel "El Loco" Valdes. Castro also has a younger brother named Michelle Sáez Castro, his uncle is José Alberto Castro and his aunt is Beatriz Castro, who both are producers. As a baby, he made his acting debut with her during the telenovela named El Derecho de Nacer. Soon after, he appeared on a television commercial with her, and on the Mexican version of the broadway show Mame alongside the prominent actress Silvia Pinal.
Cristian Tello is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger for Italian club ACF Fiorentina on loan from FC Barcelona.
My brother bears this name and even though he doesn't have a hint of Romanian blood in him, he burrs up BIG time whenever they don't pronounce his name as Cris-ti-ahn :)
This version of the name is pronounced "KRIS-ti-ahn". A Romanian would be annoyed to be called "KRIS-chun" like the American version.
I love this spelling alternative, it just seems so sleek and trendy. It also keeps me from relating the name to the Christian religion, it's great for people who are not Christian but want to use the name without being associated or connected to the religion.
