Since Deo's only popularity rating is from Italy in the 1400's, I would think it would also be listed as an Italian name, not just an Indian one. As Italian, I would think the meaning would come from the word for "God."

The word "Deo" actually does mean God. This is my grandfather's middle name. In my opinion, this is a good middle name.
