Diamantina Rodríguez (1920 – 2021) was a Spanish singer. She was named as one of the most important Asturian singers of the twentieth century. She began her career in 1948 in a contest, where she placed second. She recorded her first album in 1969, and died in 2021 aged 100.
My name is Diamantina named after my Azorean grandmother. Growing up I was known as Tina as I got older, I realize how important your name is to your identity and also realizing the name Diamantina is such a powerful and beautiful name. I now feel like a new "shining Diamond" when someone pronounces my name and compliments the uniqueness. Searching my beautiful name and finding out there is a dinosaur (not kidding) named Diamantinasaurus, a river, a cocktail, a song, a state in Brazil and singers on youtube. On my facebook there is even a male version of the name that is my friend, "Diamantino" although it doesn't seem like a common name, you will be surprised how many do have this brilliant name :)
Too long.
I'll admit it sounds a bit tacky, but I still find it a beautiful name, and much less tacky sounding than Diamond. Plus, if a girl called Diamantina dislikes her name, she could always go by Tina.
Diamantina is also an Italian name, although considerably rare. It is the name of a less-known Commedia dell'Arte character.
Diamanta can be a variant of Diamantina. I am beginning to like this name!
